What to Bring

Wondering what you can bring with you to make the Village seem more like your home?

Here is a list of items you might need and items that are not allowed. Be sure to talk to your roommates to see what they plan on bringing. There may not be enough room if each of you brings a refrigerator, TV, Microwave, and all of your stereo equipment.

  • Mini fridges (full size refrigerators aren't allowed)
  • Microwaves
  • Dishes
  • TVs
  • Gaming consoles
  • Area rug(s)
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Other large furniture

Avoid these items as they're not allowed in on-campus living

  • Candles or Incense (wax warmers allowed)
  • Appliances with open coil heating such as air fryers, rice cookers, or toasters (these are allowed in Crestone, Shavano, and Antero as they're built for cooking)
  • Extension Cords (surge protectors are allowed)
  • Window air conditioners
  • Mounted TVs
  • Dart Boards
  • Multiple outlet octopus plugs
  • Water beds
  • Pets (except fish that live underwater 24/7 in a 10-gallon tank or less)
  • Halogen lights
  • Blow torches
  • Weapons or anything that resembles a weapon such as Nerf guns, plastic swords, etc.
  • Street signs
  • Space heaters
  • Fireworks
  • Curtains or other window coverings

  • Renter's Insurance (UCCS is not responsible for items lost, stolen, or damaged)
  • First Aid Kit
  • Umbrella for the occasional rainy day
  • Multipurpose chargers for electronics
  • Fan(s) as campus housing does not have air conditioning
